Seere continues to be a wonderful mama to Sakura。 This manga is still lighthearted, funny, and cute。 In this volume we meet another demon and Seere gets more added to his plate of being a mama。 I'll be continuing this series as it is quickly becoming a favorite。 Seere continues to be a wonderful mama to Sakura。 This manga is still lighthearted, funny, and cute。 In this volume we meet another demon and Seere gets more added to his plate of being a mama。 I'll be continuing this series as it is quickly becoming a favorite。 。。。more

Seere keeps doing his thing, but his “friend” Gaad has shown up for a visit and he’s a lot more demonic than our domesticated demon。 Elsewhere, Sakura learns to jump rope and we get some uncomfortable jokes about suicide。Wow, where to start with this one? On the one hand, Seere and Sakura doing the domestic is still as cute as ever。 Sakura is utterly adorable and their relationship remains the book’s high point。 Gaad makes a pretty fun addition to the cast, being a bit of a clingy whiner who doesn’t get that his demonic pal is going to be busy for the next few years。That whole jump rope storyline is absolutely sweet and charming, a cute tale about working hard and doing well to show your appreciation。 It’s probably the sweetest thing in the entire book, certainly。Outside of that, however, it falls kind of flat。 With Seere properly domesticated - his cooking being interrupted by Gaad is probably the most tension in this one - there’s absolutely nothing of the edginess the household used to have and that’s kind of a letdown。Sakura gets bullied, the solution literally arrives in the mail。 Seere comes through by putting in the work every time。 Sakura has a nightmare that doesn’t amount to much。 It’s a lot of teaching Seere that had a lot more punch the last time around。Then Gaad gets a contract with an annoying manga creator with a death wish and we get some very lame suicide jokes。 The creator’s wish from Gaad is actually very funny and the sort of thing you should be asking for if you’re expected to hand your soul over。 He’s just a nothing of an addition to things, that being said。There’s a hint that yet more demons will make the scene next time and that promises to maybe add some zip, but outside of Gaad being ridiculous there isn’t much going on here。It’s not that it’s a bad book, but I’m legitimately struggling to remember much of it and what I do remember falls in the dreaded ‘okay’ category。 The domestic meets the fantastic concept is a lot more fun in Magu-chan: God of Destruction。3 stars - I wouldn’t call this boring, the stories are perfectly fine, but it’s certainly right on the cusp。 The first volume had charm with an edge that made it stand out and this one has mostly charm, plus some edge that doesn’t work at all。 。。。more

I was, emphasis on WAS, really anticipating the second volume to this series after how surprisingly charming I found the first one。 However, while this volume was giving pretty much everything and more that I'd hoped we were going to see since the previous volume there was a choice that the mangka made that didn't need to be made but I feel like completely turned me off from this series。 It was with a new character that is introduced and all I'll say I fell a serious issue regarding mental illne I was, emphasis on WAS, really anticipating the second volume to this series after how surprisingly charming I found the first one。 However, while this volume was giving pretty much everything and more that I'd hoped we were going to see since the previous volume there was a choice that the mangka made that didn't need to be made but I feel like completely turned me off from this series。 It was with a new character that is introduced and all I'll say I fell a serious issue regarding mental illness and/or awareness was being used as a joke and I absolutely didn't care for it。 I honestly think this turned me off from this series with that one decision because if that character turns out to be a reoccurring character, my concern is it will continue and if that's the case I'm not interested。 。。。more
